What is a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)?
CPL stands for Commercial Pilot Licence, awarded by DGCA, which permits an individual to become a pilot and fly aircraft as a First Officer (FO). To obtain a CPL, one must have completed 10+2, cleared the DGCA theory examinations, completed a minimum of 200 hours of flying training (as per DGCA regulations), passed the DGCA CPL Skill Test, obtained an Instrument Rating (IR), secured a valid DGCA Class 1 & Class 2 Medical Certificates, acquired a DGCA Computer Number, obtained an RTR(A) Radiotelephony Licence, and demonstrated English Language Proficiency at ICAO Level 4 or above.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must fulfil all the eligibility and selection criteria mentioned below. The eligibility and selection criteria are subject to change in accordance with DGCA guidelines and at the organisation’s discretion during the selection process.
- The applicant must be a female Indian citizen.
- The applicant must be between 18 and 35 years of age, as of 1st May 2026.
- The applicant must have completed higher secondary Class (10+2) with English, Physics, and Mathematics as subjects, securing a minimum of 51% in each of the three subjects mentioned.
